White Heat Live Listings
Tuesday July 22nd - £5 Adv. £6 Door
Jeremy Warmsley + We Have Band + Akira
Mr Warmsley’s not yet played White Heat despite almost playing on at least one earlier occasion. He’s about to release his second album on Transgressive (home of Foals, The Young Knives etc.). Musically think folky but with more than a dash of electronic. Say Drowned in Sound: “live appearances are wildly unpredictable …he has played as many times with his seven-piece backing band the LMNOPs (including laptop-ist and trombone section) as he has on his own.”
Akira, too mix the twee and the electronic but to a dancier effect while WHB have suddenly sprouted from all venues in London at once with an attempt straight for the Hot Chip electro jugular.

XX Teens + Poppy and the Jezebels + The Clik Clik
XX Teens ALBUM LAUNCH
We’ve had them on a few times in the past four years and finally Mute are putting out their debut album. Excited isn’t even the word. Album PR is attached and I can send you a nice photo on request. Meanwhile the Clik Clik are about to head off for a great big long residency at Ibiza Rocks. This is a last chance to see them before they jet out. Bang in the middle of that whole Wonky Pop thing with the likes of Alphabeat, Frankmusic and… Annie[?] they’re very much of the moment.

White Heat Birthday Party Part Show
Love is All + Je Suis Animal + Still Corners
For our birthday party we’re teaming up with our favourite new club (they just celebrated their 1st Birthday). Twee as F*ck. To that end we’re flying Love is All over form Sweden for a one off London show. We last had them play back in July 2006 so we’re very excited to be getting them back. Support from Jes Suis Animal (who we’re flying in from Norway!) and Still Corners (who, in a sop to our Carbon Footprint we’re not flying in) from London.

White Heat Birthday Party Party Show
Acid Mothers Temple and the Cosmic Inferno + Sh*t and Shine
Finest purveyors of Japanese Psych and they’re playing for us. A long held dream come true. Expect 90 minutes of whatever they fancy playing. Know it’ll be loud and possibly the greatest thing you [I’ve] ever seen. Support from Londoners (via Texas) Shit and Shine. No idea how many drummers they’ll be bringing to this party but AMT are bringing two so it’ll probably be at least that many…
Friday August 15th
White Heat in Scotland!
We’re heading up to Scotland for the first time in over a year to put on a White Heat night in Edinburgh! Back to the Cabaret Voltaire we go and with us we bring Dells from London and hook up with Locals Jesus H Foxxx. There is no more fun than DJing in Edinburgh. Edinburgh Festival’s also on so there’s really no excuse for coming up!
