Sing Gospel at the Royal Academy of Music
Sunday, 17th August at 2.30pm
Royal Academy of Music
Marylebone Road
London NW1 5HT
On August 24th the Olympic torch will be passed from Beijing to London. To celebrate, community choirs will lead mass sings at city centres and Live Sites and big screens across the country. Each City Sing lasts 15 minutes and forms part of the afternoon’s handover celebrations. The result will be the nation’s biggest sing-along.
You don’t have to be an opera buff… a pop diva or a crooner to attend…You just need to be up for some fun. Acclaimed gospel leader Ken Burton leads a taster workshop for everyone; people who love to sing; people who think they can’t. Ken Burton is the conductor of award winning London Adventist Chorale and MD of Croydon’s SDA Gospel Choir. Ken has worked with Carrie Grant, Heather Small, Jocelyn Brown, & Huw Edwards. As a song leader he has one aspiration: to help people sound good fast!
