Whelans London Not Part of Whelans Ireland

Social Responsibility Note to All London Giging Musicians

I decided to write to Whelans Ireland since Nadya’s partner mentioned they were part of the largest live music pub in Ireland and it was normal for musicians there to play for 3 hours. These are the emails, please read from below.

Thanks for your reply. Its much appreciated, I will put the word out to the musicians in London about this as I can imagine lots of issues coming up. We don’t want your name to get dragged into this. Its sad that the owner are riding on your good name and shortchanging musicians here.

If they are part of a chain it has nothing to do with us but thanks for informing us of the situation. They mentioned they are part of a chain from Ireland, would you think they are using your name illegally?
 
They booked our Gypsy Kings tribute band from 9 - 12 for £900,00 but paid only £450.00 because the band did not play for the full 3 hours, the owner said they were part of the biggest live music pub in Ireland and its normal for bands to play 3 hours non stop. I don’t think this is the case anywhere in the world.
 
Its only normal a 3 hour booking includes breaks.
 
We allowed them to book the band without a deposit based on the merits of Whelans in Dublin. The persons name is Nadya Gaughran.
 
Any help appreciated.
