I just wanted to drop you a quick message to say thank you so so much for being a part of our wedding reception at Trinity Buoy Wharf on 30th December.

It truly was incredible when the band walked in, and it really set the tone for the rest of the day. People haven’t stopped talking to us about how great you were.

We are awaiting the photos from our photographer, but we will be sure to share these with you when they come through please let us know if there is anywhere you’d like us to leave a review, as we would be happy to write one.

Wedding Trinity Buoy Wharf

We had the most amazing night with Geoff’s Oompah Band – they were central to the enjoyment of the evening. Our heavily Bavarian-themed night was given a boost of energy when the music started – the mixture of German Bavarian songs – Ein Prosit many times with Steins at the ready, then the Classics, YMCA, Dancing Queen, Sweet Caroline and finishing with Country Road – everyone loved the entertainment and the fun that band put into their performance – all our guests went away knowing they had had a hell of a night – fun fun fun!! Thanks, Geoff, Karen and the rest of the band – we hope to see you again sometime.

The Brass Band dates back to the early nineteenth century and England’s Industrial revolution. Music of great charm and style were produced by the hands of good players.

A flugelhorn, from the same family of trumpets and cornets is typically the main feature of a brass band, and its expanding size results in a tone bridged between a cornet and lower pitched instruments.

Whilst cornets carry the tune in the band, its pitch is dependent on the length of the tubing in the instrument. The smaller the instrument, the higher the pitch. The trombone tubing gives a much deeper and more mellow sound unlike the ones of a trumpet, as it changes pitch by moving a slide up and down rather than valves. The Alto and Baritone accompany them with more subdued tones.

The repertoire of brass bands are uniquely and unusually flexible, with pieces consisting of anything from original works, orchestral transcriptions and featured soloists to novelty compositions, medleys, marches and more.

The wide dynamic and colouristic variety brass bands have to offer means they are incredibly versatile and suitable for various different occasions.
