Harpist with Pop, Jazz, Classical and Folk Music Repertoire

Louisa first fell in love with the harp at the age of three after seeing the Nutcracker ballet. Whilst most little girls dreamed of being ballerinas, a beautiful gold harp caught her eye. Louisa had her first harp lessons at the age of six years old. She soon progressed and, at eleven, won a scholarship to the prestigious Purcell School of Music. Her studies continued at Trinity College of Music.

She was the first harpist at Trinity College to graduate with a first-class degree. While undertaking her postgraduate studies, she was invited to perform a concerto at the Royal Festival Hall with the Trinity College symphony orchestra. She was awarded the Silver Prize for String Players.
More Information
Since leaving college, Louisa has had a busy freelance career working with many of the main professional orchestras in the United Kingdom. These include the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia, London Philharmonic, Ulster Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, English National Ballet and English National Opera and at the Royal Opera House.
She has given recitals at The Purcell Room Southbank, Fairfield Halls, Southwark Catherdral and St Martins in the Fields and been broadcast many times on Radio Three. Louisa was also the featured soloist in a BBC television documentary on Benjamin Britten.
As a harpist for functions, Louisa has performed at many beautiful venues and hotels in London and the South East, from Claridges to The Ritz and the Houses of Parliament.
She has performed for royalty and celebrities; as part of the Trafalgar Day celebrations, she was invited to perform at an intimate dinner for the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh and regularly plays for functions at the Houses of Parliament.
Louisa is also carving out a niche with her unique renditions of pop and rock songs played on the harp; this year, she was invited to perform at the Kerang Rock Awards, where she played in front of Slash from GunsnRoses and Ozzy Osbourne!
She is in great demand as a harpist for weddings and takes great pleasure in creating the right atmosphere through specifically chosen music. At Christmas time, she can usually be seen performing in the Nutcracker ballet orchestra with the Royal Ballet in London, maybe even inspiring future generations of harpists as she herself was once so inspired!
