Together for over 25 years playing over 250 shows a year in over 40 countries, Jive Aces continue to prove that they are one of UK’s best jive & swing band!
Having been the first live band to reach the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent, they became known for putting grumpy Simon Cowell “in a good mood,” which they immediately followed up with a performance for Her Majesty The Queen as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
From headlining the first-ever swing dance at the Royal Albert Hall and bringing the house down with their energetic stage show at thousands of festivals, theatres, dance halls and top events throughout the UK, Europe, USA and beyond, they have become renowned for being able to entertain any audience.
Their hot jive and swing music, energetic stage show and hallmark yellow suits and a repertoire that stretches from the timeless tunes of the swing era to the glitz of the Rat Pack with a dash of rhythm & blues and classic rock ‘n’ roll, they perform songs in their unique upbeat style by such great artists as Louis Prima, Bobby Darin, Louis Armstrong, Sammy Davis Jr. and Ella Fitzgerald as well as a selection of superb original tunes.
The band have earned their reputation and won several important awards, including the City Of Derry International Music Award and the Variety Club Of Great Britain Award for their contribution to music & charity work and other foreign music festival awards.
They have worked with many celebrities such as Van Morrison, Chick Corea (who performs two songs in their “Recipe for Rhythm” album), Kenny Ball (appearing on their “King of the Swingers” album, Kenny’s last every recording), John Travolta, The Proclaimers, Keely Smith, Jamie Cullum, Priscilla Presley and Kirstie Allie to name just a few.
Jive Aces released a music video for their upbeat version of a much-loved theme song in the UK, “Bring Me Sunshine”, which immediately went viral and to date has over 3.6 million views on YouTube. It is so popular, in fact, that a Doctor in Seattle has actually prescribed the video to his patients to cure the blues! Their version of the song has also been used in countless TV shows, including twice on the UK version of “Dancing With The Stars”.
At the start of the pandemic, with all their shows having just been postponed, the band decided to do an online live-streaming show called the JiveStream to keep up everyone’s spirits. Not knowing how long this would last, they promised to do it every day, which ended up being 500 daily consecutive shows and as a result, have made a host of new fans and friends the world-over.
The band are now glad to be back on the road doing what they do best, delivering their high-energy vintage style entertainment to audiences of all ages!

National Theatre
With matching yellow zoot suits that even the late George Melly might have considered too daring, the Jive Aces are one of the Fringe’s most eye-catching turns. They’re also one of the most professional. Pausing only to introduce the next number with well-rehearsed mischief, the sextet breeze through swing, jive and boogie- woogie favourites with style, panache and smiling enthusiasm. They also know how to get an audience involved, ending the first half with all the portable instruments blowing heartily up in the bleachers and encouraging everyone on to their feet at every opportunity. Mind you, whenever special guests, the Jiving Lindy Hoppers, appeared, the dancing quality soared into another unattainable league. A good night out.
