Harpist specialising in Contemporary and Classical Music using the Irish Harp
Kate is a professional electric violinist, fiddle player, harpist and pianist from Co. Mayo on the West Coast of Ireland, currently based in London.
Her musical collaborations have ranged from classical ensembles to folk groups and
contemporary cover bands, showcasing her versatility as a musician. Kate’s musical prowess has taken her across the globe, performing in venues from Europe to the USA, China to Australia, and playing in some of the world’s most prestigious venues.
Profile
Kate graduated with a Master’s in Music Composition & Performance with distinction from Ulster University. In 2018, Kate graduated with a first-class honours BA in Performing Arts (Irish Music) degree from the University of Limerick.
Kate is an experienced and sought-after corporate and wedding musician and has frequently performed in Áras an Uachtaráin in Dublin for Irish President Michael D. Higgins and other distinguished guests. Recently, Kate was featured in Cian DuCrot’s and Ella Henderson’s 2023 music video “Rest Of Our Days”, recorded in London.
Kate is the recipient of the Music Generation / U2 bursary ‘Exceptional Musician Award’ and used the money awarded to buy her harp. In 2018, Kate received a scholarship from the University of Limerick to represent the Irish World Academy in the USA. Kate has also been presented with the Mícheál Ó hÉidhin Medal for exceptional musicians. Kate is an All-Ireland Champion fiddle player at Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann and Siansa Gael Linn.
