A Legacy of Wonder: 120 Years of History

The “Mo Style” is more than just a performance; it is a piece of living history. Founded in 1905 by Mo Wuqi, the first professional magician in Shanghai to blend Western techniques with Eastern tradition, this school of magic has influenced generations.

Today, the legacy is carried forward by Mo Shaoxian (3rd generation) and Qing Qian (4th generation), who have elevated the family tradition into a modern theatrical experience. Mo Shaoxian – The Third Generation Pioneer.

With over 50 years of stage experience, Mo Shaoxian was the former chief magician of the Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe. He is credited with creating large-scale illusions that can be viewed from 360 degrees, a feat that remains unsurpassed in the industry.

Qing Qian – The Fourth Generation Master

A celebrated female magician and member of the Shanghai Acrobatics Association, Qing Qian is the current face of Mo’s Magic. Known for her free-spirited and interactive performance style, she specialises in large-scale costume magic and the incredible speed of Sichuan Opera Face Changing.

Floral Spectacle (“Bai Hua Zheng Yan”): A beautiful display of conjuring flowers and colours, symbolising prosperity and joy, perfect for weddings and New Year celebrations.

Sichuan Opera “Face Changing” (Bian Lian): The highlight of their repertoire. Watch in disbelief as the performer swaps elaborate masks instantaneously with the sweep of a fan or a turn of the head. This ancient technique, used to display changing emotions, is a closely guarded secret and a visual feast for audiences.
