Western Swing

The Hot Cow Licks bring classic Western Swing to the stage, combining country vocals, close harmonies, twin fiddles and energetic jazz solos.

Western Swing, often called hillbilly jazz, emerged in Texas and the American Southwest in the 1930s and 1940s. The band adds its own lively interpretation, blending country warmth with jazz rhythm and improvisation.

The group features Ed (The Nightcaps, The Savoy Cabbages), Sam (The Woodlanders, Holloman) and Emily (Ragged Out String Band, Firecrackers), alongside one of their regular bass players.

With performances at venues including the Elgar Rooms at the Royal Albert Hall, the band is well-suited to festivals, weddings, private parties, corporate events and live music venues seeking something distinctive.
