Latin Ensemble in London
Katy’s Latin Ensemble is a versatile Duo, Trio or Quartet consisting of Vocals, Double Bass, Guitar and Drums. Their sound is born out of the musical styles and cultural roots of the individual members and their love of 40’s Jazz and Rock-n-Roll, 50’s Mambo and Rockabilly and 60’s Bossa-Nova and Cool Jazz.
The music centres around the breathtakingly magnificent voice of Ms. Prado. She uses her Classical Operatic training in divinely subtle ways to re-invent and improvise classics such as ‘Fever’, ‘Babalu’ and ‘Caravan’, also delivering remarkable original songs echoing the traditions of her native Chile.
