Built in 1846 as a steam-engine repair shed, The Roundhouse has had an amazing and enviable history.
The Grade ll listed building is currently home to a variety and exciting programme of live music, theater, dance, circus, installations and new media.
The Roundhouse became a legendary music venue in the ’60s/’70s when it played host to the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane and The Doors and staging the notorious ‘Oh Calcutta’.
In 2004, The Roundhouse went through an extensive refurbishment/overhaul before reopening in 2006 as a modern arts and mixed-media performance venue.
