With no intention of setting out to be a live music venue, The Windmill in Brixton has successfully done just that.
Late night sessions at the bar revealed that the regulars carried a wealth of experience in musicianship, sound engineering and promoting, and since most people gather together at Windmills, it only made sense to its founders to bring in the bands as well.
And such was the beginnings that after some five years later The Windmill is known far beyond the backstreet in Brixton where it’s situated. The place has now been dubbed “your new favorite venue”.
Entry is cheap. Beer at pub prices. There’s a nice candlelit atmosphere, friendly staff and (less friendly) dogs on the roof. But most important of all is the quality of music that keeps bringing the crowd to The Windmill.
