Jazz Trios

Jazz Trios are popular as instrumental ensembles for cocktails receptions, wedding breakfasts and any event that requires subtle background music while still maintaining an interesting rhythm. The popular combinations that are hired for events are , saxophone, bass and keyboards or guitar, saxophone and bass or trumpet, bass and keyboards. The instrument that is normally always present in a trio is a bass with the rhythm instrument often being a keyboard or guitar and the lead instrument being a saxophone or trumpet. Vocal led Jazz Trios are normally Voice, Bass and Keyboards or Guitar, there are a handful of ensembles where the pianist / keyboard player sings as well. This combination will sound almost like a Jazz Quartet as the instruments used will be a keyboard / piano , bass and drums.
