Singer, Actress and Classically trained Dancer
Born in Liverpool, Jojo is a professional singer, actress and classically trained dancer. She trained at ‘The Hammond in Chester & ‘Central School of Ballet’, in London and then performed in Matthew Bourne’s acclaimed ‘Swan Lake’ as a principal dancer- (West-end, UK and European tours) after eight years of vocational training.
She jumped into the world of music and sang lead for the BBC’s ‘Dr Who Live’ (Arena) shows around the UK with a 16-piece band and is now playing ‘Frieda’ with ‘Mania the
Abba tribute band’ to packed-out theatres up and down the country.
She cut her teeth singing jazz with the help of her piano arranger and double-bassist cousin, Paul Moylan and performs regularly in London venues with her jazz-pop quartet. Her versatility allows her the luxury of switching genres. With her powerful, raspy tones and soulful expression, she performs soul, blues and popular music through live work and recording sessions.
She wrote, recorded and co-produced her debut album ‘Studio 54’ with bassist/ guitarist Wayne Morgan and warmed up the audiences for ‘The Three Degrees’ during their 2015-16 UK tours. She’s sung BV’s for D:ream, Martina Topley-Bird and Delta Goodrum and continues to write and record original music.
She co/fronts a 6 piece ‘club classics’ festival/function band ‘Housejammerz’; reunited with another long-time bassist friend who first played in her original band over 20 years ago.
