Jazz & Opera Vocalist In London
Michelle is a solo jazz & opera vocalist for hire in London.
She began her performing career in the festival competitions and concert halls throughout Ireland before pursuing her studies in the UK at the Royal North College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Michelle recently made her Royal Opera House debut as Ninetta in the new Olivier Award winning production of Verdi’s Les Vepres Siciliennes conducted by Antonio Pappano and directed by Stefan Herheim.
More recently for the ROH, she covered the role of Pisana in Verdi’s I due Foscari starring Placido Domingo. Other roles at the ROH include Third Nymph (cover) in Dvorak’s Rusalka, Third Innocent (cover) in Birtwistle’s The Minotaur and Anna (cover) in the David McVicar Production of Berlioz Les Troyens.
Recent performances include Dorabella (Cosi Fan Tutte) at the 2014 Windsor festival, Polly Peacham (The Beggars Opera) for the European Opera Centre with the Liverpool Philharmonic and Cornelia (Giulio Cesare) for the COR as part of the 2013 Bloomsbury Festival.
For English National Opera Michelle has performed the roles of Feklusha in Janacek’s Katya Kabanova which was broadcast by the BBC and Cretan Woman in Katie Mitchell’s production of Mozart’s Idomeneo.
Michelle was a member of the Glyndebourne Festival Chorus in the summer of 2011 and performed in the company’s production of Wagner’s Die Meistersinger Von Nürnberg and Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
For British Youth Opera Michelle has performed the role of Suzy in Puccini’s La Rondine, Nancy (cover) in Britten’s Albert Herring and Madam Larina (cover) in Eugene Onegin.
Michelle is also available as a concert singer and has performed recitals at both the National Concert Hall Dublin and the Waterfront Hall Belfast.
Recent performances include an opera gala concert for the LGSO at Milton Court, Barbican and a recital featuring repertoire from The American Songbook at the NCH, Dublin.
Michelle is ideal for wedding receptions, functions, parties as well as for corporate and private events.
