Hailing from an Iranian background, Noura Sanatian graduated with a BMus Hons in Violin Performance at Trinity College of Music where she studied with Andrew Sherwood, Mayumi Fujikawa and Diana Cummings. Here, she discovered her love for free improvised music and was ‘highly commended’ by pianist Douglas Finch for her performance with guitarist Tim Yates at the 2008 Gladys Puttick Extemporization competition.

She now specializes in improvisation, session work and collaborative projects across different art forms where she works with composers, theatre companies, dancers, new music ensembles, producers and orchestras which have performed all over the UK and Europe in some of the worlds leading venues.
