Joined by highly skilled musicians with an excellent knowledge and feel for The London Green Ensemble have performed in countless private events such as Greek weddings, baptisms, birthdays, garden parties and other special occasions.
Their performances embody the music traditions of Greece and Cyprus which will leave you inspired by the warmth, quality and authenticity you would normally experience in a Greek village feast or an in old taverna in Athens or Nicosia.
Their repertoire includes hundreds of Hellenic tunes, ranging from classics like Zorba the Greek and Never on Sunday to much less known songs in the categories of Tsamikos, Mantilatos, Pentozalis, Ikariotikos, Haniotikos and Ionian-island Serenades.
Forming groups of two to seven members, their aim is to satisfy the entertainment requirements of each party. Their instruments include bouzouki, guitar, accordion, violin, baglama, percussion and kanun.
Dancers and DJs can be recommended subject to request. In wedding -parties where both Greek and English entertainment is required, it can be a good idea to mix the elements by having a Greek band for the reception, dinner and first part of the evening and a DJ for the rest of the night.
Just back from our honeymoon. Will be great to see you again in the Autumn, is it Ed and Raf’s wedding you’re playing? If so I’m best man there, so look forward to it. We had a lot of good suppliers at the wedding but some weren’t as professional as you. I think many people know there’s no repeat business with weddings but you’ve proved that being ethical and professional (and brilliant at what you do) generates new business by high recommendations.
Hopefully see you in the Autumn.
Lucia – Wedding
Hello from India. Just to say a huge thank you for the most wonderful performance at our wedding. Everybody was amazed! The videographer will send you a YouTube link of the band. Feel free to put a link on face book and also to paste a link on my face book page as my friends & family are dying to see it! I won’t be back in the UK until end of February.
Lucia and Arif x
Thank you so much for everything – EVERYONE commented on how amazing you were, Greeks and English. I know the family especially loved the Trikala song you played. You really set the atmosphere, and for me the special touch was being serenaded as we arrived at the reception. The photographer is Greg Clark (on my face book friends), he said the photos will be ready in a couple of weeks. We are off to Santorini tomorrow for a weeks honeymoon. Yes a jam when I get back would be lovely!
I was confident you would provide a great energy with your combined talents and it was wonderful to hear so many of our friends being appreciative of your music. A special ‘thank you’ need to go to Payman who is a real star and has been able to bring the sound of Armenia to us that night. Many thanks to Euxifthios and Nouni too for playing so many beautiful tunes and made us dance.
Thanks for the Great music!
Hello wanted to send a quick note to say thanks for the wonderful music last night at As Greek as it gets… brought back many memories!
You were great and all our guests would want more and more! I feel
that you have offered me the most beautiful night of my life with
your music, your spontaneity, your livelihood and your sensitivity.
Each one of you is special and you all form together a great
company. I feel very lucky to have found you!….Everyone loved you so
much that they keep on telling me they want to become your
Mina and George.
Thanks for the lovely music on Tuesday. It really lifted and moved
us all…makes English winter a little less grey and fills us with
some healthy love for Greece and our culture.
Thank you for playing at our wedding and travelling for us. We
had a brilliant time and you were a big part of making the day
special for us and our guests. I also want to thank you for your
