Afro-Caribbean Band with influences from Ghana, Senegal, Dominica & Trinidad
The Afro Caribbean Band is a unique combination of musicians from Ghana, Senegal, Dominica and Trinidad.
Each musician contributes his individual sound and style – Reggae featuring a Kora and Djembe, Township with a Calypso bassline, Hilife with Blues Harmonica, and Soca with Balafon and Flute.
Their music features musical collaborations you are unlikely to hear with any other band. It is also unique in being one of the few bands to have African and Caribbean musicians working together. The result is a heady mix of global beats, intricate rhythms and soaring melodies.
The band is edgy, experimental and innovative without losing sight of the fact that entertainment is the key.
The Afro Caribbean is fronted by Ben, Master Drummer and Dancer from Ghana, on Percussion and Balafon, delivering a potent combination of driving rhythms and subtle vocals.

Chris, also from Ghana, adds his unique funky African and Jazz guitar brand. Royston from the Commonwealth of Dominica brings in the Caribbean influence on bass.
Modou from Senegal on the Kora/Djembe. Modou is a member of the legendary Griot family.
Tony from Trinidad on drums delivers the rhythmic heartbeat, and Brendan adds the finishing touches with some explosive Saxophone, Flute and Harmonica.

The band is regularly augmented by Special Guest Modou Cissoko from Senegal on Kora and Djembe and has, since their formation, delighted audiences all over the country.
The Afro Caribbean is truly a WORLD Music band, bringing together influences from Africa, the Caribbean, Germany and Southern Ireland.
