For Weddings
There are a few options when it comes to incorporating the Bagpipes into a wedding.
- At the ceremony, some opt for a lively tune to pipe the bride from the car or up the aisle
- A respectful air of hymn to accompany the signing of the register.
- A march to pipe the married couple out of the ceremony or into the reception is also a popular choice.
The visual effect of the piper is equally important, and for that reason, Dominic always pay careful attention to his appearance for all events. Typically he wears a No. 2 uniform, but if you have any particular requirements with regards clothing he is happy to discuss these with you.

For Funerals and Memorial Services
The Bagpipes have long been used for funerals and services of remembrance and are a fitting tribute to a departed loved-one. The sound of a solo-piper, playing traditional tunes is a highly emotional and very touching feature of the ceremony.
The presence of a uniformed piper adds dignity and ceremony at this very painful time, and is a fitting tribute to the departed loved one.
The Bagpipes are often played:
- While the congregation arrives.
- The piper can lead the coffin to the graveside or into the crematorium.
Tunes such as ‘Flowers of the Forest,’ ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘The Skye Boat Song’ are all commonly played at funerals, but there are any particular requests, he is more than happy to discuss these with you.
Similarly, Dominic also plays for remembrance services, particularly on and around November 11th and Remembrance Sunday.
For Burns Night and Hogmanay
On occasions such as Burns Night Suppers or Hogmanay (or any other Scottish Themed party), he is happy to play in the haggis, or play Auld Lang Syne at the turn of the New Year (or just at the end of the evening).
Dominic is also available to act as Master of Ceremonies, and deliver the traditional ‘Address to the Haggis’ as well as reciting other poetry by Robert Burns.
