Kym’s unique voice blend of musical influences, which includes rumba catalana, flamenco, Latin pop, Gipsy Kings-style fusion, and elements of Arabic Middle Eastern and North African music, illustrates his versatile and diverse approach to music. This fusion of genres provides his audience with a musical experience that is captivating and full of variety.
Mounir, known by most as Moon, has been playing the violin since he was eight. After studying at the legendary El Moussilia Music Academy in Algiers, Moon began to shine in the local scene and was soon performing at the top recording studios and concert halls in Algeria.
Moon’s abundant musical talent extends to many other instruments. He plays the Mandol, several types of percussion, Spanish Guitar, Oud, Bouzouki and Persian Tar. Moon is still pushing the boundaries by getting involved in different projects and taking his music to new artistic territories and far-flung corners of the world.

Once in London, Moon mastered the electric violin and various new effects and techniques borrowed from Jazz, Blues and Soul music. The result was a completely new and exciting style. Also, his distinctive way of playing the violin vertically on his knee and his ability to blend into any style of music intrigued everyone. Before long, he became one of the most in-demand artists, thrilling crowds in concerts all over the capital.
Today, you can catch Moon playing alongside an array of very exciting artists and bands, including legendary percussionists Bikram Ghosh and Pete Lockett, Amar, Hossam Ramzy, John Barnes, Robin Millar, Steve Hillage, Damon Albarn, DJ Naz, DJ Ma Faiza and among others. He also worked for the 2 Seas Record label from Bahrain, co-founded by Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad AI Khalifa at Air Studio in London.
Moon is always present in landmark events such as Womad, Rise Festival and internationally the Anti-Crise, Darbar South Asian Music Festival and Marrakech Film Festivals. His performance at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios in the first-ever global satellite broadcast went out to 134 countries around the world. Moon has produced and orchestrated many pieces as a solo artist and scored the BBC documentary “The Boys From Baghdad High”.

We were so happy with Moon and Kym’s performance. Their music manages to cover and combine a lot of styles and places, making everyone happy, and they’re both talented and generous in equal measure. They played songs that we’d requested in advance, and they played a long last set as everybody wanted to keep dancing.
They’re also very warm and kind people, and it was a real joy to meet them and to hear them play. Can’t recommend them enough!

We had the immense joy of having the incredible duo Moon and Karim perform at our wedding. A magical blend of North African, French, English, and global influences beautifully reflected the spirit of our celebration. Set against the stunning backdrop of Richmond Hill, our wedding brought together a mature, well-travelled crowd, including several musician guests, and yet Moon and Karim still managed to move, delight, and completely captivate everyone present.
They didn’t just perform; they became an integral part of the night. They went above and beyond in every way, adding depth, soul, and energy to the entire atmosphere. Their music was not only beautiful, it was alive, weaving effortlessly between traditions and rhythms with emotion and elegance.
A special thank you to Moon, who truly caught the moon that day, surprising us with an extra layer of joy and entertainment that will stay in my heart forever. The way he and Karim handled every moment with professionalism, creativity, and heart was simply extraordinary.

Moon and Kym were the most perfect band we could have ever dreamed of for our wedding day. They were truly incredible and even better in real life than the videos (if that’s even possible as the videos are amazing).
Me, my partner and close family listen regularly to Latin, Spanish and Middle Eastern music but our guests who aren’t as familiar absolutely loved them and we were dancing all through the day and night.
They were super helpful to sing a slightly slower version of one of their songs for our first dance.
