More About Andrea
Andriah is a singer-songwriter from the East End of London. Her love for music began when she was 5 and saw Michael Jackson dancing his iconic moonwalk on the Motown 25 reunion show in 1985. This led to attending a weekend stage school and participating in “Bugsy Malone” at the Old Half Moon Theatre, Stepney, at age 10.
From Prince to Whitney Houston, her love for soul and R&B music grew. This love took her to New York City, where she studied and perfected her musical craft working with the Mama Foundation for the Arts on the famous 125th Street Harlem. This Gospel school was created by the Mama I Want to Sing creators, who toured on and off Broadway and West End London.
Andriah was a backing singer for Shola Ama for two years after leaving her record deal. She joined the Ck Gospel Choir, where she travelled internationally, performing for festivals, weddings, and on TV shows such as Harry Hill’s show, The Last Leg, and X Factor’s Andrea Faustini’s music video in 2015. Andrea was also a backing singer for Sir Lenny Henry in his blues band from 2018 to 2019.
Andriah has been performing songs she has written from her “Beautiful Collateral” collection for the last three years. She has a BA (Hons) in Music and is completing her MA Vocal Studies degree at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, where she also works and delivers regular vocal Masterclasses and Workshops.
