Unique Background Music. Ri is an instrumental, professional and academically-trained Oud player from the Middle East. Her solo performances are influenced by the rich heritage and the sophisticated modern music of the Levant, Middle-East and extend to neighbouring genres from the further East.
She revisits the traditional musical material, presenting it in a dynamic style. She hand-picks instrumental and sung music works to perform on the Oud, sometimes accompanied by a percussionist and other musicians.
Ri’s performances have played a role in reconnecting people with their traditional/modern music and have successfully introduced it to a wider audience from all musical backgrounds. The sound she plays is mesmerizing, sentimental as well as lively and upbeat.
